With the effects of climate change becoming more widespread, Terracor has joined other global companies in adopting a greener and more sustainable approach to our operations.
In 2021, Terracor embarked on a program to substantially reduce the carbon footprint of our manufacturing company, primarily driven by a move away from utilisation of power generated by fossil fuels. Our approach involved installing solar panels over the entire roofing structure of the factory and by October 2021, this volume of solar panels was able to produce enough power to ensure the production line is kept running at full capacity throughout the day. In addition to the positive environmental impact, these changes have also enhanced Terracor’s ability to adapt to the constant strain and electricity shortages experienced with South Africa’s national power supply.
The implementation of solar generated power has now enabled uninterrupted production 100% of the time, ensuring Terracor delivers on time, every time.
